Workshop on Big-Data-Driven Materials Science
Ringberg Castle, July 27-30, 2016

organized by Matthias Scheffler (Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society, Berlin, Germany)

Big Data in materials science is a multidisciplinary field that encompasses topics from theoretical and experimental Chemistry and Physics, computational science, mathematics and more. As a newly emerging field, there are obvious and compelling potential synergies to be found inside the MPG which have not been utilized and need to be investigated closely. Several members of the Max Planck Society have decided to form an initiative to face this challenge. This meeting is aimed at deepening existing collaboration plans and exploring new ideas for cooperation.
