Xinguo Ren
The Max Planck Partner Group for Advanced Electronic-Structure Methods was established between the group of Dr. Xinguo Ren at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in Hefei and Prof. Matthias Scheffler and his department at the Fritz Haber Institute (FHI) of the Max Planck Society in Berlin. The Partner Group officially started in September 2015, and is devoted to developing and implementing advanced electronic-structure methods that are both accurate and tractable for materials science (see Mission). The planned research is a continuation and extension of Dr. Ren's work with Prof. Scheffler when he was at the Fritz Haber Institute (2006-2012). Some of the previous publications can be found here.
The Max Planck Partner Group will be supported by an International Advisory Board. In June 2016, the 1st USTC-FHI workshop on the Frontiers of Advanced Electronic-Structure Methods took place in Hefei. More information about this workshop can be found here.
