Arriving by plane

From Flughafen Tegel:

Take bus 109 to Jakob-Kaiser-Platz. Change to take subway U7, direction Rudow until Fehrbelliner Platz. Change to U3 direction Krumme Lanke and stay on until Thielplatz. Travel takes about 40 min. The ticket costs 2,60 Euro.

A Taxi takes approximately 25 minutes (outside of rush hour). The fare is about 25 Euro.

From Flughafen Schönefeld:

Take S-Bahn S45 (Gesundbrunnen) until you reach Heidelberger Platz. From here take U-Bahn U3 direction Krumme Lanke until Thielplatz. Travel takes about 60 minutes.
If you arrive late at night, or if for any reason the S45 does not run, you can take S9 direction until Treptower Park and change to either S46 or S41 (S-Bahn ring line clockwise direction) until you reach Heidelberger Platz. Take U3 direction Krumme Lanke until Thielplatz. Travel takes about 60 minutes. The ticket costs 3,20 Euro.

A taxi from Schönefeld takes approximately 40 minutes (outside of rush hour). The fare is about 35 Euro.

Arriving by train

From Main Station (Hauptbahnhof)

Take any S-Bahn going to Zoologischer Garten S5, S7, or S9. Change to the U-Bahn and take U9 direction Rathaus Steglitz until Spichernstrasse. Change to U3 direction Krumme Lanke until Thielplatz. Travel takes about 35 minutes. The ticket costs 2,60 Euro.

A taxi takes about 20 minutes (outside of rush hour). The fare is about 18 Euro.

From Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten:

Take the U-Bahn U9 direction to Rathaus Steglitz until Spichernstrasse. Change here to U3 direction Krumme Lanke until 'Thielplatz. The ticket costs 2,60 Euro.

A taxi takes about 20 minutes outside of rush hour. The fare is about 15 Euro.

From Ostbahnhof:

Take S3, S5, S7, or S9 direction to Warschauer Strasse which is the next stop. Take U1 direction Uhlandstrasse until Wittenbergplatz. Change to U3 direction Krumme Lanke until you reach Thielplatz. Travel takes about 45-60 minutes. The ticket costs 2,60 Euro.

A taxi is not recommended, because it takes takes too long.

For the journey from Schönefeld you have to purchase a ticket, which covers the fare zones ABC. For all others a ticket for AB is sufficient. Don't forget to stamp your ticket in one of the red or yellow ticket machines on the platform before you start your trip.
